  25. Brian Killem,. Age 56. Passed away suddenly on June 6, 2014 after his worsening COPD finally got the best of him and his heart gave out. Brian was born on March 17, 1956 to Bob and Jean Killam. Brian was a 1976 graduate of Lee M. Thurston High School. He also attended Schoolcraft College and was a graduate of the engineering program at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. Following school Brian began his career as a broadcast engineer at a small family-owned TV station. After several years he moved to UPN which eventually became an affiliate of CBS. In 2010 Brian was one of many who were laid off and it was about that time that his health began to deteriorate. Although Brian was very good at his job, his job was not what defined him. Brian had many interests throughout his life. Among other things, he loved to camp, fish, play cards and build computers. But once all is said and done, Brian's one true passion was firearms. He loved everything about them: hunting, marksmanship, matches, scoring, maintenance, the camaraderie with other gun enthusiasts, and of course the fact that they went "BOOM"! Over the years Brian belonged to many different gun clubs and formed many friendships with the other members of these groups. In recent years he was most active with the Wayne County Raccoon Hunters Club, especially the USPSA section members.Brian will be greatly missed by his sisters Roberta, Linda, Donna and Barb, and brother-in-laws Jeff and Ed, and by his incredibly wonderful friends Rob and Karen Gaffney, in fact the entire Gaffney Family of which he was an honorary member, and his other good friend, Roy Neal.
